When I was a kid, two heroes defined what comics were to me:

Spider-Man and Superman.

I remember discovering that they had crossed over in those giant-size treasury editions from the 1970s and thinking it was the coolest thing imaginable — two worlds colliding.

So getting the chance to create an Artist Exclusive cover for their newest crossover is one of those full-circle moments.

So I wanted to do something special.

Two Heroes Defined Comics.

A Crossover Defined a Generation.

Nearly fifty years later Spider-Man and Superman finally meet again.

And this time... I drew the covers.

ANNOUNCING THE PRESALE EVENT FOR SUPERMAN & SPIDER-MAN #1

Earlier this year Marvel announced my wraparound Spider-Man / Superman cover for their edition of the historic crossover.

But I realized something — to truly live the crossover,

I needed to draw both sides of it.

So I quietly worked with DC to produce my own Artist Exclusive DC variant, completing the crossover from both publishers.

That makes me--

One of only two artists - alongside Adam Hughes - ever to have created both a Marvel and DC cover for the same Spider-Man / Superman crossover.

There’s another twist.

This DC variant is the only cover using the retro Giant-Size Treasury-style trade dress, echoing the look of the original oversized crossover comic from the 1970s.

Two versions exist:

• Retro Cardstock Edition
• Future Foil Edition

Or collectors can grab The Legacy Set, pairing both covers together.

Each cover is limited to 1,000 copies.

Be the first to order the new Kaare Andrews Artist Exclusive variant for Superman & Spider-Man #1. This will not be sold in stores. The first 250 orders receive a numbered early collector certificate.

Ships after the MegaCon event.

Some Artists Dream About Drawing Spider-man.

Some Artists Dream About Drawing Superman.

I Got To Draw Both.

“When Spider-Man and Superman first crossed over in the 1970s…

it was in giant treasury editions with an iconic trade dress.

For my DC Artist Exclusive variant, I wanted to celebrate that history.

This is the only cover in the entire variant line using the classic treasury-style design.

Only 1,000 copies exist — and copies ordered through my site are personally signed.”
